Nice shots. I just wish I was in the position to buy one.
We just caught the first completely uncamouflaged prototype for the Dodge Challenger running outside of the Chrysler Tech Center. Perhaps with the Media days of the Detroit Auto Show officially behind them, the Chrysler folks were eager to put the finishing touches on their next big unveiling. The production Challenger will take its official bow next month in Chicago.
I have mixed emotions on this car.
As Drew can tell anyone, my dream car has always been the sister to the Challenger, The ‘Cuda. I fell in love with the ‘71 Hemicuda when I was about 7.
The concept ‘08 Challenger had the same lines as the ’70’s models, and I was considering selling my first born to get one.
Now I look at what they did to the rear end and I want to find the exec who authorized the changes and have him/her drawn and quartered.
Dear Chrysler,
You screwed this up.
Why?
You had it perfect.
And I’m not talking about the safety changes or the grille.
I’m referring to that stupid angled area in the taillights.
It looks like that four door atrocity you should have called the Dart, but instead sullied the Charger name with.
The rear of this car is just as important as the front.
The concept designers understood this.
That said, I still want one, But I just add to the list of bodywork I would do to it.
(Changing the hood to have a shaker, Putting the ‘Cuda Cheese grater Grille on, adding the ‘Cuda Brake cooling slots, and now fixing the rear end.)
