Yet another artist is gone…
It was a very bad week for the world. Boyd Coddington, Jeff Healy, and now Gary Gygax.
Gary Gygax affected my life more than I can say.
Believe me, I’ve written this six times and it has yet to come out right.
I had always thought I would get to meet him and thank him for the what he brought into my world, now that will never happen.
I have to defer to Eric Burns over at Websnark. Please take the time to read his eulogy.
Goodbye Mr. Gygax.
Thank you for touching my life.

Wow! When will I have the time and money to have a playroom like this?!?!? I’m feeling extremely nostalgic right now. Forget a M.A.M.E. cabinet… I want something like THIS!
Peter Hirschberg has just finished his stunning retro-gaming heaven, a Valhalla for the best arcade video games ever. His Luna City Arcade has 57 fully-restored arcade classics, which span from Asteroids to Zaxxon, plus a whole load of pinballs. Amazingly enough, he does all this on his own dime, for the love of it. It’s open to the public now, and the best thing: entrance and quarters are completely free. Check the video, huge gallery and the interview with Peter after the jump.

Ran across a great discussion between Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht about geeks and relationships.
I can relate to a lot of this and thankfully have found myself a wonderful wife that doesn’t try to change me (at least too much anyway) and has gotten past the occasional marathon sessions in front of the computer.
If someone doesn’t like you the way that you are, then they don’t actually like *you*, only what they wish you were.
Short clip and full episode after the jump.
