Being addicted to technology is hard; something better is always around the corner. Not even two weeks ago I was writing about the soon-to-be-released Garmin nuviphone and it has already been knocked off of my radar by the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 due mid-2008. I still think that the nuviphone is a compelling product and will find a decent market as it just makes sense to combine Garmin’s great nuvi GPS navigation system with a cell phone. The game changer there is adding internet capabilities to the GPS device which greatly enhances it’s capabilities.

Wow! When will I have the time and money to have a playroom like this?!?!? I’m feeling extremely nostalgic right now. Forget a M.A.M.E. cabinet… I want something like THIS!
Peter Hirschberg has just finished his stunning retro-gaming heaven, a Valhalla for the best arcade video games ever. His Luna City Arcade has 57 fully-restored arcade classics, which span from Asteroids to Zaxxon, plus a whole load of pinballs. Amazingly enough, he does all this on his own dime, for the love of it. It’s open to the public now, and the best thing: entrance and quarters are completely free. Check the video, huge gallery and the interview with Peter after the jump.

This might just be the phone that I’ve been waiting for.
“The nüvifone is an all-in-one device offering unmatched integration of utility and function in a single mobile device,” said Cliff Pemble, Garmin’s president and COO. “This is the breakthrough product that cell phone and GPS users around the world have been longing for — a single device that does it all.”
When the Apple iPhone came out, techo-lust immediately took me over, I had to have one and I had to have it now. That feeling subsided quickly as I dug deeper into it and concluded that without GPS functionality, the iPhone wasn’t nearly as great as it had seemed. I had already become quite accustomed to using a Blackberry 8800 and using Google Maps in conjunction with the GPS. I had also realized the power of having a GPS in your car long ago.

I think I just found my new notebook, very nice!
The Apple Macbook Air (official site)
Update:
Maybe I don’t like it as much as I thought… no user-replacable battery??? What?!?
Update #2:
After some more thought, I have found myself completely on the fence about this one. This seems like it would be a wonderful traveling companion that would be perfect for syncing with a beefier system at home or in the office. Even better if there was a piece of software to facilitate the synchronization of email, calendar, contacts, documents, etc. between systems.

Well I want to stick with the tone of the site and post about things that make me happy or generally contribute to my happiness.
I came across http://www.lifehacker.com a while back and now I visit it every day. This site introduced me to GTD (Getting Things Done) concepts like emptying your inbox every day by creating action folders.
In addition to general productivity tips are great life tips like caffeine naps, DIY flycatchers and so on. They also have a fair amount of tech tips, although quite a few are for Macs (snide comment here).
I highly recommend you check it out! It will add more to your life than reading about Lindsay Lohan!!!
(by the way, we are not affiliated with Lifehacker in any way, it’s just a great site - drew)

Greetings programs!
Well, Drew and I had a little pow-wow combined with a large amount of turkey, a dash of deathmatch and possibly an adult beverage or two, and had a very good time doing so.
So much so that we thought we might see if any of you smackfu readers would be interested in a little smackfu smackdown in the FPS area.
