2008 Dodge Challenger SRT-8, Undisguised @ Jalopnik

Published by drew under cars

Nice shots. I just wish I was in the position to buy one. :-(

We just caught the first completely uncamouflaged prototype for the Dodge Challenger running outside of the Chrysler Tech Center. Perhaps with the Media days of the Detroit Auto Show officially behind them, the Chrysler folks were eager to put the finishing touches on their next big unveiling. The production Challenger will take its official bow next month in Chicago.

2008 Detroit Auto Show coverage from Jalopnik

Published by drew under cars, design, sports cars

Jalopnik is one of my favorite car blogs, their coverage of the 2008 Detroit Auto Show has been great.

A few of my favorites from the show:

Lexus LF-A Roadster - Lovely, simply lovely… However, if I had to choose, I think I would do without the droptop

2009 Corvette ZR-1 - I think I’m in love, only gripe is the clear window on the hood, that might work with a mid-engined car, but not a front-engined one. The only thing you need to know what’s under the hood is to hear it

Mazda Furai Concept - Mazda, stop teasing us with concepts and just put out a follow-up to the 3rd generation RX-7 already!

2005 Infiniti G35x 30,000 mile review

Published by drew under cars, daily drivers

2005 Infiniti G35xBefore you commit yourself to reading this review, I just want to warn you that it is not a very detailed or technical review. Overall, I’d have to say that it’s been one of the best cars I’ve ever owned. Good enough that my beloved ‘93 Mazda RX-7 R1 is feeling pretty neglected.

The 2005 VW Passat TDI 20,000 mile review

Published by railgun under cars, daily drivers

In September of last year gas prices became so bad that I could no longer afford to drive my 1998 Wrangler to work anymore. The 16-MPG highway I was getting was costing me, with no exaggeration, $340.00 per month in fuel alone. (Yes, I work 50 miles away from my home. I’m not happy about that, but that is where the work is.)

With this in mind, I began to look for a new car. The first car I went to look at was the 2005 Toyota Prius. We went to our local Toyota dealership, and after being ignored for 20 minutes, we were finally shown the car. I’m a larger fellow, but I fit comfortably enough in the car, and I liked its features.
